Dorothy Ann Horstman, 89, of Anderson, TX, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018. She was born in Ashville, NC on November 30, 1928 to Gideon and Kitty Smathers. She was married to Laurens W. Horstman for 55 years. Dorothy was a member of the Shell Retirees Club. She enjoyed traveling, trying new restaurants, fishing and sailing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gideon and Kitty Smathers; and husband, Laurens W. Horstman. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia A. Schroeder and husband Ed, Beth Horstman, Laura McAuliffe and husband Denis; grandchildren, Sara Schroeder, Jonathan Schroeder and wife Laura, Lauren McAuliffe, Stephanie Beseda and husband Brett, Danielle McAuliffe, Cailley Avila and husband Gabe, Christopher McAuliffe and Claire McAuliffe; great grandchildren, Ryan and Blake Schroeder, Michael McAuliffe, Brooks and Blake Beseda.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00pm. Graveside services will be private.
