Donald is also survived by his three sisters, Darlene Winstel of Dallas, Judith Howard of Houston, Lynn Hardy of Dallas, and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lucille and Zonnie Hardy, brother-in-laws, Jack Winstel, Matt Howard, Richard Rasmussen, and William Gardner.
Don was born on December 11, 1939 in Crescent, Oklahoma to Zonnie O. and Margaret Lucille Hardy. He graduated from Pasadena High School in 1958. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1963, was awarded medals for sharpshooter and good conduct. He was transferred into the U.S. Army Reserves in 1964 and his term of service expired in 1966, but remained in the Reserves until 1970.
He was employed by Brown and Root from 1966 until he retired in 2000. During his 35 years with Brown and Root he was a Pipefitter, Welder and Foreman. After his retirement in 2000, he and Janice moved to the Commons of Lake Houston, Huffman, Texas.
Donald loved constructing items from metal such as trailers, BBQ pits, etc. He enjoyed rebuilding his 1980 Pontiac Trans Am with his son. Donald and Janice have been members of Christ the King Episcopal Church since June 2002. He participated in the Lord of the Streets with other members of Christ the King.
