David was born on May 25, 1951 in Houston, Texas to Philip and Betty Joyce Young. David was a long-time resident of Pasadena, Texas and graduated from Pasadena High School in 1969. He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Anita Young of Deer Park, TX; three sons, Paul Young and wife Robin of Cypress, TX, Bryon Young and wife Kimberley of Wimberley, TX, Brad Young of Deer Park, Texas; six grandchildren Bryson (15), Daylan (13), Levi (12), Drew (9), Brinkley (9), Kyndall (7); one spoiled dog, General (2). David is also survived by his beloved siblings Judy, Janice, Dennis, and Phyllis.
David was known as a hard worker throughout his career and made the sacrifices necessary to ensure that his family never had to go without. After retiring in 2016, he “worked” his favorite and final job as a Marshall at the Deer Park Battleground Golf Course.
If David was not at home watching the Astros or Aggie sports then you could probably find him on the golf course. He loved taking his wife on Carnival cruises. Most of his conversations involved multiple one-liners. In fact, his sons will miss the daily check in calls just to “shoot the bull.” David never failed to mention his grandkids who he loved so dearly. To describe him as a proud “Papa” would be an understatement. David was an honorable husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
The Young family would like to give a special thanks to the HCA Heart Hospital – Clear Lake and staff who took great care of him in his final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday April 22, 2022 in the Fellowship Hall of REVIVE! Church Pasadena (Formerly Pasadena First United Methodist Church) 1062 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, TX. 77504. Casual Attire.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in David’s name to a charity of your choice.
