D.A. Buell, 96, of Pasadena, Texas entered into eternal rest on November 14th, 2020. D.A. was born on December 2nd, 1923 to parents Chester Earl Buell Sr. and Edith Laferre Buell. He was the fifth child of five children. He attended Paris High School, Arkansas Tech, and then ultimately graduating from The University of Texas with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
After graduating he began a successful career as a Field Engineer for Combustion Engineering, then later working for Houston Lighting and Power Company in several positions, eventually retiring as a Plant Manager in 1987 after diligently serving for 25 years. He was even part of one of the most important events during the war, the invasion of Normandy, France on June 6th, 1944, or D-Day.
Some of the words that come to mind when you think of D.A. are honest, religious, intelligent, generous, and an overall family man. He was respected by many and loved by all, especially Robert Rodriguez, who helped to care for him in his final days. When D.A. wasn’t working or spending time at the church, you could find him doing yard work, watching UT football, listening to various styles of music ranging from church hymns and Celtic Woman, to musicals and classical, and visiting his friends and family.
