Cynthia “Cindy” Yvonne Graves, 69, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Though we already feel the sting of her passing, we know that she lived a beautiful and full life and was loved by so many.
Cindy was born in Van Vleck, Texas, on December 12, 1955, to Delores Elaine Crittendon and Jack Junior Brumley. She was the 4th of 5 children and to hear her talk about it, she was the favorite. Cindy was a member of The Church Triumphant in Pasadena where she met many lifelong friends. She met Hulon “Boe” Graves on January 12, 1975, and they were married 3 months later, on April 4, 1975. They spent their life together raising their only daughter Courtney and later welcoming their much-anticipated granddaughter Chloe. Cindy had numerous nieces and nephews that she loved and treated as her own. She was fondly referred to as “Nana” by her great nieces, nephews and the many children from her church.
She had an open-door policy where all children were welcomed at her house or to be traveling with her. Cindy loved to travel to any destination including the snow or the beach. Ironically, she was afraid of the water, but the beach was her favorite place to be. The beach was a very relaxing place where she could fish, sit under her umbrella and watch the kids play in the waves and sand. The beach outings were a perfect way for her to spend quality time with family. Many memories were made sitting at the table playing cards with her closest friends. She also enjoyed attending concerts that ranged from country music, southern gospel to anything in between. Cindy loved to brag how Boe always spoiled her. She loved to be pampered by getting her nails manicured and shopping for the latest style of clothes, shoes and purses. She will be remembered by her various hair styles, up-dos and colors. Cooking was not her forte so she could be found enjoying local restaurants and usually had to be seated at the largest tables to accommodate the number of people she would bring along with her. She was easy to be around and her smile and laughter could bring light to any room she entered. But her smile always shined the brightest when she was around those she loved the most. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Cindy leaves behind her husband of almost 50 years Hulon “Boe” Graves, daughter Courtney Graves and her ‘pride and joy’ granddaughter Chloe Graves; her brother Jay Brumley and wife Simona as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that meant the world to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elaine and Jack; her sister Jackie McIntosh; and her brothers Jim and BD Brumley and many other loved ones.
Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Justin Selser, Devin Paul, Preston Phillips, Mitchell King, Jordan King and Dillan King. Honorary pallbearer will be David Ramos.
