Claude Sparks, born 12-14-1939 in Pasadena, TX passed away 9-21-2014 at his home near Oakwood, TX. He graduated Pasadena High School and went to work for Weingarten doing inventory. He later went to work for Olin Mathieson and worked at that location for several different companies as one bought out the other. After retiring from Exxon Mobil he moved to “the country”. In the meantime he married Linda Hill. They were married 53 years. He was predeceased by his father Burt Sparks, his mother Dorothy Sparks, three sisters, Delores Sparks, Patricia Porter and Phyllis Steele and one brother Ronald Sparks. Claude is survived by wife Linda, two sons Ronald Steven Sparks and wife Barbara from Brighton, CO and David Michael Sparks and wife Darla from Tomball, TX; four grandchildren, Annie Sprinkle, Ashley Sims, Michael Sparks and Cameron Sparks, and three great grandchildren Kyrin Sprinkle, Aidan Sprinkle and Jordynn Lewis, and many nieces and nephews. Claude enjoyed family life and one of his favorite things was working with his two sons in Boy Scouts. It was also a family tradition to go pheasant hunting which Claude enjoyed for 40 years. It was even more fun when he was joined by his sons, grandsons, brother-in-law and nephews. Claude’s dream was to get out of the city and when he moved to the country and started raising cattle, that dream was realized. He loved working with the cows or just sitting in his truck watching them. He loved the land and taking care of it. A visitation will take place at Grand View Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 between 6-8 pm with services on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
