Clara was born in Dallas, Texas on September 25, 1931, she lived there until her dad was stationed in Harlingen, Texas in 1941.
In 1947 her parents moved to Corpus Christi, Texas. While in Corpus Christi she met her husband Marvin, her one love, and they were married June 18, 1949. They lived there until February 1978 when Marvin was transferred by PPG to West Virginia for 2 years then Marvin was transferred this time to Lake Charles, Louisiana. Marvin retired at the end of 2015, and they moved to LaPorte, Texas and joined Fairmont Baptist Church in February 1986.
After they retired, they loved to travel and went to Branson, Missouri, which was one of their favorite places to visit. Not only did they travel, but they also enjoyed taking their grandchildren on summer vacations which included Branson and Nashville.
After her husband passed away January 2008 Clara moved her church membership to First Baptist Church, Pasadena on the first Sunday of October 2008. She loved her Sunday School class. She always talked about how loving they were. She loved going to the Tuesday church luncheons and seeing all her friends and listening to the service.
Clara accepted Jesus into her heart what at a Baptist Camp when she was 15. She prayed with Howard Butt, Jr and the pastor of First Baptist Church, Harlingen, Texas. However, she was not baptized til later.
When she got married, they started going to Second Baptist Church in Corpus Christi. January 1950 both Marvin and her were baptized together by Pastor Lester Roloff. They remained very active in all their churches until Marvin passed away on January 13, 2008. Clara continued to attend church regularly until Covid, but she continued to make phone calls to her Sunday School class members up until recently.
She is survived by her son Douglas Meissner, her daughter Sharon Meissner Koehl and husband Gary Koehl, a grandson Adam Meissner, a granddaughter Dodie Koehl Gober and her husband Richard Gober, a granddaughter Cassy Karnes and husband Branden Karnes. She has 5 great-grandchildren. She has two loving sisters-in-law and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Eula Walton, her husband Marvin Meissner.
