Christine Gomez

1947 - 2016

Christine Gomez, age 68, received her wings to heaven on Wednesday, March 08, 2016, in South Houston, Texas.

Christine was born on December 31, 1947 in Pasadena, Texas to Hisiquio and Isidra Castillo Gomez. She graduated from South Houston High School in the Pasadena School District. Christine worked a few jobs before securing a position for the United States Postal Service where she later retired after being employed for just over thirty-one years with the company.

Christine is survived by her sons, Robert Campos Jr and Javier Campos, her daughters Melissa Perez with her husband Erik, and DeAnne Campos. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Dialinda, Gabriel, Alyssa, Adrian, Nevaeh, Isaiah, and Drea; as well as two great grandchildren: Melli and Roman; her brothers: Blas, Isidoro, Simon and Joe Gomez and sisters: Vickie Vara, Emily Garcia, Carmen Gomez (husband Gerrardo Gomez). Christine is preceded in death by her parents Hisiquio and Isidra Castillo Gomez, her brothers Juan, Lucas, Octaviano, Juan Tirso and Guadalupe Gomez; sisters: Francis Coronado, Matilde Adame, Leonor Coronado, Margarita Sanchez, Ester and Diana Gomez including brother in laws: Pete Vara and Higinio Garcia.

Christine was a great friend to all she met. She was a social and active perdon and she shared a passion for dance with her son Robert, Jr. She also enjoyed sewing, and planting, and spending time with her grand children. Her family and friends will always remember her as a compassionate and loving person.

A public visitation is scheduled for 2-5 pm on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Grand View Funeral Home - 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm on Monday, March 14, 2016 also at Grand View Funeral Home. Pastor Jimmy Easter will officiate.

Christine thoughtfully planned a reception to honor her friends and family whom she loved with all her heart. All are welcomed to gather at a reception immediately following funeral services at South Houston Community Center - 1007 State St, South Houston, TX 77587. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Christine’s life.

The family would like to thank all of those whom took the time to be with Christine in her last days and times of need.
