Charles Frederick Roessler, Jr, 73, entered into the Kingdom of God on June 17, 2017 surrounded by his wife and children in his home of 44 years in Deer Park, TX. He was the only child born to Catherine and Charles F. Roessler, Sr. on July 19, 1943 in Indianapolis, IN.
He had a long successful career in telecommunications working for several companies and corporations developing and managing the communication internally and externally both domestic and international. After receiving Christ in his thirties, he developed a relationship with our Lord that eventually lead him to be called to serve the Lord in the Catholic Church as a permanent Deacon. He was ordained to ministry on May 9, 1987. His ministry of 30 years called him to serve the communities of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Community (Houston, TX), Sacred Heart of Crosby Catholic Community (Crosby, TX), St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Community (Spring, TX) and St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Community (Houston, TX). Eventually he had the honor of being called as servant of the Church to serve on the Deacon Community Board for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. During his service as Deacon, he was drawn to learn and teach about the rich Biblical traditions of Catholicism through teaching classes to both new and life-long members drawn to develop their Christian faith. Through this ministry as a servant to his Lord, he baptized many children including 10 of his 12 grandchildren and his great-granddaughter. He educated and welcomed adults and children into the Sacraments of the Church. He prepared, witnessed, and supported couples in the Sacrament of Marriage. Lastly, he helped families through the transition of their loved ones from life to eternal life.
His legacy with his wife of 50 years, Betty Gene Borm Roessler includes four children and their spouses: Carolyn and Mark Smith, Sherry and Joe Guerrero, Jr., Rhonda and Ernie Garza, Jr., and Kathy and Eugene Roessler. They were blessed with 12 grandchildren: Brandon, Ashleigh, Brooke, Brianna, Carley, Jacob, Joseph, Allison, Cody, Catherine, Emily and Kyle. Three years ago, God blessed them with a great-granddaughter, Aubree. They were also blessed with a multitude of relationships with many special people and families from the parishes and Archdiocese he served. Lastly, he treasured his relationships with his brother deacons, priests, and religious.
Betty and the family would like to thank the Encompass Home Health-Clear Lake team, Hallmark Hospice team, and Right at Home-Friendswood team for the care they lovingly gave to allow us more days with her husband and our Dad and Poppy.
