Charles E. Miller II was born on August 20, 1951 in Houston, Texas to Charles and Judy Miller. He passed away on January 22, 2019 at the age of 67. Charles, also known as “Pancho” by family and friends, was preceded in death by his parents. Immediately following his death, he was followed into Heaven two hours later by his beloved mother-in-law, Mary Anne Scalise.
Pancho is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Theresa Miller, daughter, Keeley Jenkins and husband John, sister, Linda Myers, sister-in-law, Fran and husband Robert, brother-in-law, BJ Scalise and wife Diane; grandchildren, Sam Rector and fiancé’, Morgan, Tyler Lee, Alexis Jenkins, Mikayla Jenkins, and Colin Jenkins. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many caring friends.
The family extends a special “thank you” to Joe McCune and Dennis Noseworthy for their support with taking him to his appointments at M.D. Anderson during his battle with cancer.
In addition, he is survived by his dog and most faithful, loyal companion, Hope, who brought joy and comfort through his difficult journey with cancer.
Pancho joined the Navy in 1971 and served through 1976. He attained the rank of AME3 and received the National Defense Service medal. Following the Navy, he worked in the oil industry and later became self-employed. He enjoyed building furniture, silk-screening, and assembling ship models. He had a passion for learning, especially about history and animals.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, February 9, 2019, 2 p.m. in the chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at the Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
