Carl Gilbert Porter

Carl Gilbert Porter, 84, passed away on October 25, 2013 in Deer Park, Texas. He was born on July 10, 1929 in Metairie, Louisiana to Eugene Arthur and Bertha Livonia Porter. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, David Eugene Porter, sister, Edith Annette Porter Belcher and 3 baby brothers. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Tasker Porter; son, Stephen Tasker porter; daughter Carey Diane Porter; four grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene Arthur Porter and many special friends.

Carl was retired from Ethyl Corporation after 37 years of service and in his years of service, he survived 2 explosions.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Marty and her hospice team at Hallmark Hospice for their kindness during Carl’s last moments. They would also like to say a special Thank You to a true friend, Tom Hocken for the love shown during Carl’s illness.

Family will receive friends on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 3 pm in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Grand View Memorial Park.
