Harlon was born October 15, 1943, in Houston, Texas to George and Irene Dearing. He graduated from Pasadena High School in 1962 and went on to Rice University where he played football and graduated in 1967. He was a member of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas. Harlon enjoyed listening to country music, eating breakfast tacos at the Ranchito, would never turn down a Snickers bar or a Lone Star Beer and nothing made him light up more than his 9 grandchildren.
Harlon leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Wanda Dearing; sons, David Dearing (Traci) and Christopher Dearing (Kimberly); daughter, Deanna Sparkman (Brent); grandchildren, Taylor, Mackenzie, Carson, Tanner, Brady, Presley, Vada, Cambre & Emerson; sister, Shirley Foster (Don); brother, George Dearing (Josie) and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The Dearing family would like to give a special thanks to all the healthcare providers who cared for our dad in his final months of life. Most notably, the friendly staff at Christwood in Covington, Louisiana and Dr Paul Guilbault of Mandeville, Louisiana.
