Brenda Kay Carrillo

The funeral service will be held at Grand View Funeral Home at 12:30 PM on Friday, February 9, 2018, located at 8501 Spencer Hwy., Pasadena, TX 77505. Mr. Marty Vershel will be officiating the chapel services followed by a Reception for Family and Friends in which we will celebrate her rich life and share special memories of her with each other. Funeral arrangements are being coordinated by Grand View Funeral Home.

Brenda was born in Hamlet, North Carolina, on November 6, 1945, to Hubert and Lucille Maples. She graduated from Hamlet High School then entered the work force as a result of her desire to be an independent strong woman, a characteristic that remained with her throughout her lifetime.

Brenda married the love of her life Mr. Ricky Carrillo in 1976; they were married until his death in early 2000 when he was taken unexpectedly from her. They are now reunited in spirit on a park bench in their favorite park with Mickey their beloved Schnauzer smiling and loving us all.

Brenda is survived by her daughter Mary Morgan and her wife Lisa, her son Rodney Dennis and his wife Sheri, two granddaughters Kaitlin Perez and Whitney Yoist, Kaitlin’s spouse Daniel and her great grandson Aven, in-laws Janie Carrillo, Minnie Carrillo, Mary Carrillo, Joe Carrillo, and Juan Cordova. Her surviving Maples family siblings in North Carolina include Amy Terry, Delores Bunch, Kenny Maples, Hubert (Yogi) Maples and their respective spouses. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and additional family and friends that adored her.

The family of Brenda M. Carrillo wishes to thank all family and friends that shared your lives with her. Each of you filled her heart with joy and love, she was truly blessed.
