Bobby moved to Houston in 1964 where he met his wife Nondia. He worked as an Avionics Technician and later served as a mentor for pilots in the classroom. Bobby was also a self taught bass guitarist playing in the Back Porch Gospel Band. He also played guitar and did the sound for other bands. He performed in churches, missions and lent his talent when needed for fundraising for numerous charities.
He served as a Master Mason for over 40 years and past Most Worshipful Master Mason at Park Place lodge which was the largest Masonic lodge in the state of Texas at the time.
Preceded In death by his mother Doris Stinnett, brothers Richard and Grady Smith. He was survived by his wife of 55 years Nondia, his daughters Doris and Wanda, her husband Joe Rogers, two grandsons Austin and his fiancé Jaelyn Denbow and Trenton Rogers, numerous nephew’s, niece’s, cousins and many more lifelong friends who will miss him.
A Celebration of life will be held Jan 29th at 76 W 7th Street Kemah, Texas 77565
The band will start around 2 pm. We will celebrate the way Bobby requested with good music and food. The event will be come and go to share your memories of him. Please RSVP via text at 281-770-4383.
