Former Texas resident Billy Joe Winn, 87, died June 25 of natural causes at his home in Humble, Tx. Mr. Winn was born Jan. 7, 1929 in Terrell, Tx. to D.E. and Beulah Winn. He graduated from high school in Liberty, Tx. and attended Rice University where he excelled in football. He served in the USAF for 8 years in England and Alaska and was a member of a championship pistol team. He was and MP and was part of an elite team who escorted high level civilian and military personnel. He left a distinguished military career on a hardship discharge to care for his ailing parents.
Bill had a long career in sales, including books and home improvements. He married Marilyn Pearl Eckert on June, 2, 1957. They had four children, Richard Alfred, Robert Douglas, Cyreatha Kay and Randolph Christopher. He is prededed in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, and son Randy. He is survived by Rick, Bob, Kay, grandchildren Amanda, Tyler, Melissa and Christopher. He is also survived by a son from a previous marriage, Michael Mininni of California.
He was a devout Christian and a member of the Atascocita Lutheran Church. Bill Winn was the owner of Chili Time, a successful restaurant in Jeffersonville, Indiana and was well loved by his many regular customers, and all who knew him. He was a Mason and a Kentucky Colonel.
A Memorial Service will be held on June 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Atascosita Lutheran Church. The famiy requests donations to offset final expenses sent directly to Pasadena Funeral Home, Pasadena, Tx .
