On Tuesday, April 10th, 2018 Aubrey Dale Edwards husband, father, papa, son and brother, passed away after a short courageous battle with cancer at the age of 62. Born on May 6th, 1955 in San Antonio, Texas. Aubrey is proceeded in death by his parents William Edgar Edwards and Betty Jean Trobaugh. He is survived by his wife Wendy Edwards, his children Jay Edwards and wife Kara, Aubrey Edwards (Bubba), Corie Williamson and husband Blair, Whitney Strickland and boyfriend Jason Davis, Ashley Strickland and fiancé Scott Grammier, Lacie Cole and fiancé Andrew Turlington. Grandchildren James Williamson, Paul Diaz, Jordan Vargas, Noah Coghlan, Aidan Edwards, Jaxon Vargas, and Harper Williamson. Brothers and Sisters Laurie Colicci and late husband, Danny, Doug Edwards and wife Lara, Serena Edwards-Kirk, Daryl Edwards and late wife Jodie, Melody Naumann and husband Kenneth, Mona Brett and husband Richard. Aubrey will also be forever remembered by extended family and dear friends.
Aubrey was a devoted husband known as “Mr Wonderful”. “Mr Wonderful” he was. He loved and cared for Wendy in a way that was a true testament of love & devotion. She truly was the love of his life and best friend. He was a strong, loving, and selfless father to his 2 sons and 4 daughters. A very devoted papa to his grandbabies and loved to spoil them.
Aubrey loved to take trips to Louisiana to visit the casinos to play a game or so of blackjack and drop a few coins in the slots. He enjoyed spending time with his family at the many pool parties and family gatherings. Any chance to get away on a vacation. He was also a truck and car enthusiast.
Aubrey served in the Army from 1973-1979 with an honorable discharge.
Aubrey worked for Albermarle for 30 years being a role model for many. He was known as “Gandalf the Grey” to his co-workers.
