In April 1941 she married Wilburn B. Standley in Madisonville, Texas. They moved to Pasadena, Texas in 1942. Wilburn passed away in 1967 and she married Travis D. Lancaster in July 1975.
Before her marriage to Wilburn Standley, she and her sister owned a beauty shop in Centerville, Texas. After their marriage she helped out in the family owned business, W.B. Standley Motor Company. She retired from Pasadena High School where she worked in food services and was responsible for making desserts. Especially pies, at least 25 or more a day. After retirement from PHS she worked at First Presbyterian Church-Pasadena, in the Mother’s Day Out program and for many years she worked in the church nursery at First Baptist Church-Pasadena where she has been a member since October 1943. To many of the children, she was known as Grannie Annie.
She loved her family and she enjoyed watching her great grandchildren play sports. Annie Mae was an avid Astros fan. She loved softball and liked telling about the days that she played.
Annie Mae was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilburn B. Standley and her second husband Travis D. Lancaster; grandsons, Jerry Lynn Key and Kirby Wade Standley; step daughter, La Nita Kay Burkhalter; her parents, 3 sisters, and 7 brothers.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jo Elaine and Jerry Key of Deer Park, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Kathy Standley of Brenham, Texas; son-in-law, Steve Burkhalter of Deer Park, Texas; grandchildren, Renee Key Johnston of Beaumont, Texas, Brooke Spradley and husband Mike of Deer Park, Texas, Chris Burkhalter and wife Michelle, Josh Burkhalter and Amber Nahlen and husband, Russell; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 11, 2016 at 12:30pm at First Baptist Church Pasadena, 7500 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. Interment to follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
