Alfred was a graduate of El Campo High School, Wharton County Community College and Texas A&I University. He served in the United States Army from 1961-1963. His career was spent working in the grocery business for Weingarten's, Food City and Food Town.
Alfred was first and foremost a family man. He set an example for those around him by being a man of strong character and conviction. He served as a role model for his three sons and was a loving husband. He enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, camping, bowling, playing golf, carpentry, supporting the Astros and Texans, and his trips to Gulf Greyhound Park, Coushatta and Las Vegas. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Houston.
Alfred was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia Stock, his father Wesse Stock, and his mother Henrietta Stock. He is survived by his son Alfred Stock Jr. and wife Gloria; son Robert Stock and wife Susan; son Steven Stock and wife Ann; brother Bitty Stock and wife Jane; granddaughter Amber Stock; and Laura Gonzalez.
