With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our amazing Mom, Margaret, who left us at the age of 80, surrounded by her family.
Known for her ever-present smile and love for her family, she brought joy and warmth to all who knew her. She especially cherished her grandchildren, finding endless pride and happiness in Jacob Klassen (Katelynn), Benjamin Klassen, and Hannah Richard. And the feeling was mutual.
Born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Marg spent the first half of her life on the prairies and moved to Parksville in 1981. Mom enjoyed a life surrounded by love and laughter. She was predeceased by her parents, Clayton and Joan Lee, and her siblings Joan Chase (Ron), David Lee (Shirley), and Chris Lee (Susan). She is survived by her baby sister, Barbie Okell (Brian); her loving daughters, Sandra Porter (Scott Richard) and Leslie Klassen (Steve); her stepdaughter, April Bawden (Mike and Christopher); her beloved grandchildren, and her aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Margaret leaves behind many dear friends, including her childhood friend Josie, who brought her so much joy in her last several years. During the last 43 years in Parksville, Margaret enjoyed many cherished friendships. She was well-known for her kind heart, her love of travel and adventure, her unintended sense of humor, and her presence will be deeply missed.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Waite, the extraordinary staff at Cokely Manor, and the dedicated VIHA team for their exceptional care and support during her final year. Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness. She will be forever remembered and missed by all whose lives she touched.
Love you, take care, okay, okay, love you, okay, bye bye.
