Lorraine was predeceased by her mother, Frances Neale (née Markham), as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents.
She is lovingly remembered by her father, Robert Neale, and his wife Carol; her sons, Nathan (April) Neale and Nicholas (Tamara) Ouellette; and her cherished grandchildren: Nathalia and Chandler Neale, Ariadne Ouellette, and Jayshon and Landyn Riley.
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Lorraine spent her early childhood traveling the world with her family during her father’s military service. These early experiences sparked a lifelong sense of adventure.
As a young woman, Lorraine had a passion for comic conventions and rock concerts, embracing every opportunity to celebrate her unique spirit. In later years, she found joy in collecting dolls, creating beautiful artwork, and—much to the surprise and delight of her family—writing imaginative fan fiction.
Lorraine will be remembered as a feisty, sparkly spirit who brought light and laughter to those around her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and especially by the compassionate staff and fellow patients at the Renal Dialysis Unit of Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine’s memory can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
