William Dale Deem

He was born March 23, 1935, in Spelter, WV, a son of the late Burleigh F. and Alda V. (See) Deem. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy S. Deem; son Jeffrey Deem and sisters, Mable Watson, Wilma Cox and Nina Lumpkins.

William retired from the United States Navy as an Engineer. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved being with his family and friends and enjoyed collecting various coins.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Geraldine (Smith) Deem; children William “Jimmy” (Mary) Deem, Timothy (Donna) Deem; step-children James Smith, Charles Smith, Ruthann Eaton, Charlotte Milhoane, Wanda Vaughn; brother Luther Deem and several grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dobby Thrash officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

A second service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2019, at the House of Faith Church, in Clarksburg with Pastor Deloris White officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial with Military Rites will follow the service at the Greenlawn Masonic Cemetery, Clarksburg.
