Wayne Elwood Baer, 86, of Celebration, Florida passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at his residence. He was born July 30, 1937 in Meyersdale, Pa., a son of the late Leo & Catherine (Arnold) Baer, brother of the late Donald Baer and an infant sister.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Janie Lou Baer, his son Timothy Daniel Baer, his daughter in law Shellie Kate Baer and granddaughters Grace, Audrey and Abigail Stutler, brother in law Darrel E Williams and sister in law Christine Baer, and nephews Jeremy Williams, Matt Baer and niece Rebekah Coleman Baer.
He was a 1955 graduate of Meyersdale High School and was a graduate of DeVry Technical Institute of Chicago, IL.
He served in the U.S. Army and was employed with the B&O, Chessie and CSX Railroads for over 30 years as a radio maintainer and was blessed to enjoy an early retirement.
He enjoyed skiing, traveling and cruising. He was a ham radio operator (W8MAY), and maintained several local radio and television stations. He was an avid photographer and videographer.
He was an elder and congregational pastor for many years with Fresh Fire Ministries and attended Downtown Bethel when in Parkersburg.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Saturday February 10, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Chris and Sandy Longgrear and Janet Richards officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. Friday, February 9, 2024 at the funeral home.
