Virginia “Jenny” J. Harr, 89, of Parkersburg, passed away Nov. 27, 2010 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 29, 1921 in Wood County, a daughter of the late Alonzo Potter and Mary Alice Goodwin Charlton. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Jenny loved going to garage sales with her family and baking pies for friends and family.
She is survived by five children, Shelvia Neely, Edna (Mike) Roberts, Sandra (Chuck) Jonas, and Gary Harr, all of Parkersburg, and Larry (Connie) Harr, of Titusville, FL; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Alvin Charlton of Parkersburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis L. Harr; one daughter, Carolyn Abdella; three brothers, Charles, Alonzo, and George Charlton; two sisters, Edna Lycans and Esther Ward; and one great-granddaughter, Melinda Harr.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
