Ruth Ann Currey

She was born January 10, 1930, in St. Marys, WV, a daughter of James F. and Maggie M. Williamson.

She graduated from Parkersburg High School and worked as a secretary in local offices before marriage.

Throughout her life he served as organist and pianist for several local churches, including Gihon United Methodist Church, Fairview United Methodist Church, and Lubeck United Methodist Church, where she currently holds membership.

Ruth is survived by her husband Richard Paul, daughter Karen Waller (Carl) of Belpre, Ohio, her niece Sarah Townsend, her grandniece Rachel Townsend, brothers and sisters-in law Phyllis Flinn (John), Barbara Carr (Dale), Wayne Currey (Joann), and Beth Currey, and their children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Wayne W., Herman, and Russell; mother and father-in law Elsie and Bradley Currey; brothers-in-law Robert Currey and Ed Currey, and sisters-in-law Alice Williamson and Zelma Williamson.

Funeral services will be held August 11 2023 at 1 P.M. at Lubeck United Methodist Church, 1771 Harris Highway, Washington, WV with Rev. Damon Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 23rd St. and Park Ave., Parkersburg, WV.

Visitation will be at the church one hour before the service.

Sunset Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
