She was born January 11, 1941, in Ritchie County, a daughter of the late Doyle and Sara Edna (Heffner) Freshour. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Allen; four sisters; one brother and one grandson.
Phyllis retired from the Wood County Schools as a cook and attended of the Word of God Ministries Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her children, William Allen and his wife B.J., Emmitt Allen and his wife Maribeth, April Whited and her husband Will, Patrick Allen and his wife Tina; three sisters; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Daniel Ahart officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2018, also at the funeral home.
