She was born April 11, 1932 in Bartley, W.Va., a daughter of the late Richard d. Kirk and Edna Cartwright.
Frances was a graduate of Beaver High School in Bluefield, WV where she was a proud member of the Drum and Bugle Corps. She was employed for 25 years at Emmanuel Baptist Church as the administrative Assistant. She met her husband when working at Ft. Monroe, Virginia. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends.
Surviving is her husband of 60 years William E. Stump, one son, William Patrick Stump of Slaty Fork, WV, one daughter, Lynn Stump Nicholson (John ) of Parkersburg; 6 grandchildren, Michael Stump, Holly Stump Burnside, Andrew and Marc Stump all of Parkersburg; Kelly Nicholson of Charlotte, NC and Alex Nicholson of Snowshoe, WV. 4 Great grandchildren, Chloe and Colton Stump, Caden and Cody Burnside, special nieces and nephews; special friend and recent caregiver, Terri George.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Richard Michael Stump, and one sister, Norma Taylor.
Service will be Friday, January 20, 2012, 2:00 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Parkersburg, with Dr. Kurt Busiek officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 19, 2012, from 6-8 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
