She was born October 13, 1944 in Parkersburg, WV a daughter of the late Early Barber and Ruth Dovenbarger Barber.
Lola worked at Big Bear and Foodland grocery stores. She was also a beautician by trade. She was a Presbyterian by faith attending Beechwood Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, producing numerous pieces over the years. Lola was an avid reader and could entertain herself with a good book. She always had a smile to give and will be missed by those who loved her.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 54 years, Jerry Mercer; sons, Jim (Sue) Mullen, Jerry Mercer; brothers, John (Pat) Barber, Tommy Barber; sisters, Wanda (Gene) Fink, Georgie (Tom) Holbert; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. July 22, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. With Steven Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the funeral home.
