She was born April 3, 1927 in Pad, WV, a daughter to the late Howard and Bertha Sarver Daugherty. She retired from the Wood Co. Board of Education as a secretary. She was an avid quilter, a 4-H leader, and served as President of 4-H leaders Association, she was a member of the Lubeck Church of Christ, the Ohio Valley Homemakers Club, Family Community Education, Helping Hands Quilt Club, Ohio Valley Club, and was a past Board member of the Directors of Belleville Homecoming. She traveled extensively across the country with her husband, and later overseas with her sister Maxine.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Cochran, two brothers, and two sisters, and a step granddaughter, Missy Whytsell.
She is survived by her sons, Carl Cochran Jr. (Joyce) of Belleville, Michael E. Cochran (Barbara) of Parkersburg, and Dwight D. Cochran (Nancy) of Belleville, daughter, Janet Memel of Washington, grandchildren, Steven Cochran of Columbus, MS, Jeremy Cochran of Charleston, WV, Ryan Cochran (Jessica) of Belleville, Anthony Cochran (Gina) of Vincent, OH, Dalton Memel of Washington, Jenny Cochran of Belleville, step grandchildren, Wendy Memel of Parkersburg, and Autumn Thrasher of Parkersburg, great grandchildren, Adriane Cochran of Parkersburg, Drew Cochran of Belleville, Brody Cochran of Belleville, Lilly Cochran of Vincent, OH, and Meadow Mowery of Parkersburg, step great grandchildren, Cody Wilcox, Colton Tant , Dustin Whytsell, and Sidney Thrasher all of Parkersburg, sister, Maxine Taylor of Jacksonville, FL, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Service will be Wednesday, February 29, 2012, 11 am at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with Ministers Steve Fuchs and Larry Dale officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 2-8 pm at the funeral home, and two hours prior to the service Wednesday.
