Karen S. Hayhurst

She was born April 22, 1945 in Manning, WV, a daughter of the late Ray Shaffer and Maxine Griffin Shaffer.

Karen was a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her family and all the duties that entails. She was always positive and filled with love and hope. She loved spending money whether she had it or not. She loved trips to the Amish Country. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family. Karen’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her loving partner of 34 years, Allyn Schoenfeld Sr.; sons, Timothy (Christina) Hayhurst, Jeffery (Peggy) Hayhurst; daughters, Debbie (Raymond) Myers, Donna Sue Hayhurst; grandchildren, Alisha (Ryan) Kelley, Natasha (Dustin) Yocum, Tiffany (Joel) Wright, Timmy Hayhurst, David Hayhurst; great-grandkids, Brendon, Nevaeh, Adaleigh, Isabella, and Branson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Tucker.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Thursday March 6, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Mike Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. Wednesday March 5, 2025 at the funeral home.
