Harold “June” Hamrick, 85, of Parkersburg, passed away Nov. 29, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
He was born Sept. 5, 1925 in Big Bend, WV, a son of the late William Henry Harrison and Sarah Elizabeth Reynolds Hamric. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in both WWII and Korea. He was a longstanding member of the Lubeck Church of Christ. June owned and operated Hamrick’s Garage at Larkmead and for many years he owned and raced dirt track stock cars. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved the outdoors.
He is survived by two sons, Jim Hamrick of Lubeck, and Bill (Lou Ann) Hamrick of Waterford, OH; three daughters, Joyce (Mike) Doyle of Ravenswood, Charlene (Bobby) Nedeff of Parkersburg, Terrie (Steve) Wigal of Washington; one special daughter, Jenny Metz of Parkersburg; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Rhodes Hamrick; two infant daughters; and 10 siblings.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Minister Van Sprague officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens with military rites provided by the American Legion Post 15.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
