Frances M. Dowler

Frances is survived by one daughter, Amanda Dowler; one grandson, Roan Delli-Gatti; and one granddaughter, Helena Dowler. She is also survived by one sister, Elizabeth Smith, of Parkersburg.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her brother, Ed Smith.

For 33 years, through two wars, and within three branches of service, including the US Air Force, US Army, and US Navy Reserves, Frances served her country as a psychiatric nurse helping many active duty soldiers with their mental health struggles. Frances achieved the rank of Captain during her time of service and she was stationed in hospitals at both Fort Gordon and Fort Bragg. She retired from the United States Army.

Frances will be remembered for her love for animals. She would always make sure to have at least a cat or dog around her home as a pet. Her family also stated that orange was her favorite color.

Services will be held at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1st. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the funeral home.
