Emil Whipkey Jr., 72, went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2020.

He was a United States Air Force Veteran and retired after 35 years as an Elementary School Teacher for Wood County.

Emil will be deeply missed by his wife of 48 years, Judith (Snyder) Whipkey, son, Edward Whipkey, daughter, Brandi Whipkey (Robert Huffman), granddaughter, Emily Huffman, sister, Linda (Wayne) Woolard, brother, Charles (Brenda) Whipkey, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Emil was preceded in death by his parents, Emil Sr. and Nadine Whipkey.

Visitation will be Friday, January 31, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.sunsetparkersburg.com.
