Elsie G Rhodes

Elsie G. Rhodes, 82 of Mineral Wells, passed away June 13, 2011 at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born June 19, 1928 in Spencer, WV a daughter of the late Gomer G. and Mollie G. Brannon Parsons. She was a member of the Lubeck United Methodist Church, loved her flower garden, cross-stitching, and bird watching.

She is survived by her children, Barbara K. (Bob) Dagon of Mineral Wells, Charlotte (Mike) Reid of Washington, and Damon E. (Judy) Rhodes of Parkersburg; her siblings, Mildred G. Yoak of Millstone, WV, John E. Parsons of Spencer, WV, and Nelson D. Parsons of LaVernia, TX; five grandchildren, Debbie (Tim) Battin, Lori (Bobby) Eagle, Jenny (Vince) Nedeff, Jon Rhodes, and Matt (Amy) Rhodes; and 10 great-grandchildren, Chelsey Battin, Colton Battin, Ethan Nedeff, Brice Eagle, Jocelyn Rhodes, Abby Rhodes, Brodie Battin, J.D. Rhodes, Ellie Nedeff, and Caleb Rhodes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Rhodes; an infant sister, Lori Parsons; and one brother, Garland Parsons.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Lubeck United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Smith and Rev. Mona Jackson officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.
