He was born April 30, 1947, son of the late Inez Jackson and Wilbur Mahoney.
He graduated from Williamstown High School. After graduation, he worked for Steers Heating and Cooling and then became a Sheet Metal Craftsman for Tristate through Union 33, which he retired from in 2003.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Avyril Marie Mahoney; his sister, Sheila Peters of Parkersburg; sons, Perry Mahoney of Parkersburg, Terry Mahoney of Parkersburg, Kerry (Susan) Mahoney of Parkersburg, Berry (Abby) Mahoney of Vienna, Lee (Amy) Shuman of Pennsboro and Robbie Cottrill, Jr. of Parkersburg; daughters Kathy (Paul) Justy of Grafton, OH, Tess (Chris) Martin of Mineral Wells, Lonnette Stotts (Jim Henderickson) of Cairo, Gloria Shuman (Roy Elliott) of Parkersburg, April (Bill) Flowers of Deerwalk and Robin Mowery of Parkersburg. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren as well as his good friend, Bobby Elliott of Parkersburg and his friends and neighbors of Deerwalk.
A heartfelt thanks goes to the doctors and nurses of Ohio Health Riverside Methodist Hospital of Columbus, OH and Striker Cancer Center of Belpre and the nurses of Hospice Care of Parkersburg for their dedication and professionalism in the care of our loved one.
A private Graveside Service will be scheduled at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 29, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service may be planned at a later date.
