She was born October 28, 1936 in Pennsboro, WV, a daughter of the late Fred Monroe and Ila Leeson Monroe.
Coda graduated from Victory High School in Clarksburg. She held many jobs throughout her life. She worked at McCroys in Clarksburg where she met her husband, Kent. After moving to Parkersburg, she worked at Arlens, Rinks, and retired from Montgomery Ward in 1987. Her most important job was being a mom and grandmother, which she took great pride in, and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed crocheting and attending numerous craft shows. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her son, James Andrew “Andy” (Kim) Corley of Washington, WV; daughter, Vicki (Chris) Penn of Mineral Wells, WV; grandchildren, Logan Penn, Dylan Penn, Drew Corley, and Dustin Corley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kent Corley; son, Kent Corley II; infant son, John Richard Corley; grandson, Evan Penn ;brothers, Ralph Monroe, Ed Monroe, Fred Monroe; sister, Gaynell Byrd.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Friday June 30, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Thursday, June 29, 2023 and two hours prior to the service on Friday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the funeral home.
