He was born on March 29, 1945 in Parkersburg, WV, the son of Lloyd and Mildred Hodge and his biological father, William Todd Lewellyn.
Lew graduated from Parkersburg High School and proudly served his country in the Air Force. While stationed in California, he married his wife of fifty-nine years, Andra Crumpler Lewellyn.
He retired from GE Plastics serving for thirty years in planning and scheduling. He was a member of the Sand Hill United Methodist Church and Boaz Lions Club. He was a Wood County 4-H leader for over 40 years and an archery instructor. In his retirement, he enjoyed watching West Virginia sports and the Green Bay Packers. He faithfully supported all his children and grandchildren in their activities. He was an avid deer hunter and trout fisherman accompanied by his best friend Harry Ayre (wife Jeanie). He spent his time working the garden, raising livestock, building projects, and cutting firewood. He also enjoyed quality time with friends and family at Heritage Hollow Family Camp in Ritchie County. His favorite meal was deer tenderloin, fried potatoes with ramps, and lemon meringue pie with a diet coke at 6:00pm sharp.
He is survived by his wife, Annie; his sons, David Anthony Lewellyn (Krista), Matthew Wayne Lewellyn (Jill); his daughter, Dee Dee Adams (Wayne); his grandchildren, Chase Lewellyn (Abigail), Makenzi Lewellyn, Kennedi Lewellyn, Katie Vernatter (Peter),Kassie Kincaid (Austin), Brady Gains (Cassidy), Lucas Lewellyn, Jennessa Lewellyn, Abbie Lowers (Austin), Christian Adams; his great grandchildren, Jacob Anderson, Jackson Anderson, Owen Vernatter, Greyson Gains, Cody Lowers, and soon to be born, Clara Ann Lewellyn. He is also survived by two brothers, Jim Hodge (Sherri) and Mark Hodge (Pauline), his sister, Cindy Shutts (Mark), neighbors, Alex Anderson and Janet Staats, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Mike Hodge and sister-in-law, Janni Spaur.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, two hours before the service at 1:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Friday November 24, 2023, with Minister Scott Rice officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wood County 4-H Trustees, 1 Court House Square Suite 408 Parkersburg, WV 26101 and/or Boaz Lions Club, 252 Orange Drive, Williamstown, WV 26187.
