Theresa L. Quinn was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, mother in law and friend. Theresa passed away at home on February 16, 2023 at the age of 59 after a courageous battle with cancer. In her last moments, she was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
She was born to George and Marjorie King on November 26, 1963 in Santa Ana, California. Her family moved to Lake Havasu where she attended high school and graduated in 1981. In Havasu is where she met her husband of 40 years, Daniel Quinn. Together, they had 2 children: Brittany and Brandon. She worked for Wallace Elementary School for 21 years and retired in 2020.
Theresa enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, hosting family get togethers for football Sunday and holidays, Food Network Channel and her guilty pleasure was watching trash reality TV. She excelled at anything physical and had a real competitive nature. Her family joked about her being a “sore loser”, which didn’t occur often, even if that meant late night ping pong matches in the garage, family Scrabble nights or battling Dan and Brittany for the high score on PacMan. Growing up she played competitive tennis and volleyball and continued throughout High School earning awards and recognition throughout the state. She spent a lot of time hiking, skiing, camping, boating and anything else allowing her to be outdoors. Her favorite things were her family, spending time in the Hualapais and summer vacations on the beach. Theresa’s sarcasm was one of her best qualities and every good comeback was met with a fist bump of approval. Even in some of her darkest days she found a way to make her family laugh and never missed an opportunity to display her wittiness.
Theresa was preceded in death by her mother and father George & Marjorie King. She is survived by her husband Dan, daughter and son-in-law Brittany & Giovanni Gonzalez, son and daughter-in-law Brandon & Marissa Quinn, grandchildren Gavin, Isaac, Isaiah, Gabriel, Aiden, Ariana, Audrey and Kaleb, siblings Michael King and Debra Burger.
There are no current plans for services as her family plans to travel to all her favorite places in her memory. Please feel free to share your memories of Theresa for her family to read and enjoy.
