With a sad heart I extend my condolences to Linda’s family. 
I’ve known her since we both attended elementary school in Poston.  Our families also enjoyed services and activities at the Poston Community Baptist Church throughout our school years. It's appropriate that she has a blessed service in the church that guided her development as a youth and adult. 

Linda and I were always happy to see each other when we happened to cross paths on my trips back to Parker.  Her welcome smiles and hugs made me feel at home.  In late  2014, I returned to CRIT to work for the Tribe and was very happy to learn Linda was working in the same department.  She welcomed me and shared information on the processes when I asked. During the 3.5 years I worked there Linda was a loyal, reliable and considerate  support, she carried out her duties in a quite, consistent and humble manner.  I respected her as a friend and employee for she was strong yet gentle in her approach. I valued her honesty and ability to maintain confidentiality, both were absolutely necessary to the job. One other quality I want to mention was her public speaking ability, when asked she could  prepare and deliver thoughtful comments especially on the tribe, probably a holdover from her days as MIss CRIT. 

Regarding her family, Linda was like a mother bear when it came to her children and grandchildren acting as  an ever present safety net and protector of her family.   She was also capable of a great and lasting love as evidenced in her loving lifelong friendship with Greg. One might say it was destiny that they eventually loved and married. There is a wonderful story there. 

Linda and I remained in touch after I returned to Tucson calling and texting. I miss her already. My deepest respect and love to her family.

To my sister Linda Sue, 
I am fortunate to have you as my sister - I will miss your hearty laughter, your goofy sense of humor, and your loving hugs and most of all the loving memories you would share of our McCabe family times at our nali's homesteads.
It won't be the same without you here, but I know in my heart you watch always over us.
