Born in Terre Haute, Indiana, on October 13, 1944, he showed everyone at a young age he was a hard worker. At four years old, he drove a tractor for a neighbor farmer that paid him a dollar a week. A story Dave was very proud of. His family moved to California when he was nine. He later graduated from South Gate High School, where he met the love of his life, Gayle.
The Lowe’s spent many family vacations at the river in Parker with their friends from the “Aristocrats” Car Club. In September of ’72, Dave and Gayle moved their family to Windmill Resort and made Parker their home. In 2003, they retired to Northern Arizona.
Dave was very active in the Parker community and wore many hats. He coached little league, Captain of the mounted Sheriff Posse twice, hunter, camper, and of course the Coors Man and owner of State Line Tire. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. He started the first vocational scholarship of Parker. He was also known to get political; he helped La Paz County break away from Northern Yuma County (making Arizona history) and he was involved in several election campaigns.
Dave was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a cherished and respected friend to so many. He definitely made an impression and will be greatly missed. Dave was preceded in death by his son David Jr. He is survived by wife of over 52 years, Gayle; his son Darrin (Donna) Lowe of Tempe, Arizona; his daughter Dennette Lowe of Atwood, Oklahoma and his three grandchildren.
