Dale Slane passed away Tuesday July 24 at The Mayo Clinic Hospital. He was born in Los Angeles Hospital and lived most of his life in Los Angeles County. He enlisted in the Marines in 1946, and served as an amphibian tank mechanic. He was also an expert marksman. He did guard duty in San Francisco, CA.
He and his wife Sandi Slane moved to Big River, CA in 1978, to reside to present. He loved to fish and hunt, and also helped people with mechanical work on vehicles. He has helped build the community, working on buildings, mobile home skirtings, etc. He was an active member of the American Legion, helped build it from the ground up. He was a work-aholic. He was a member of the American Legion- Elks. He is survived by his wife Sandi Slane/ Linda Palmer-daughter, Robert Lamb/ David Luke Adams-grandson/ Mary Esquerra/ Hanna Adams- great granddaughter/ step son- Jamie Blane/ Rebecca Blake-step granddaughter / Joshua Blake- step grandson/ Tawny Ayers- adopted granddaughter/ Don Slane- uncle/ Donny and Debra Slane-cousins/ Mike and Karen Slane- cousins/ Tim and Kim Slane- cousins/ Kathy slane- niece/ Richard and MaryDelozier- brither and sister in law/ Bert Comstock- brother in law. He was preceeded in death by his son Dale V. Slane, and his precious wife Ellen Comstock. Also he was survived by many cousins and nephews to numerous to mention, he had a huge famil. He was well loved by many family and friends and will be dearly missed. Funeral Services will be held at Parker Funeral Home at 9:00am August 10, 2012, followed by a Military Burial at the Parker Cemetery.
