W. Michael “Big Mike” Robertson, 59, of Reno, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Medical City Dallas Hospital. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home followed by visitation at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29th, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Pecan Gap Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Myre officiating. Burial will be made in Pecan Gap Cemetery. Mike, the son of Weldon & Daphna Shipman Robertson, was born Oct. 13, 1957, in Bonham. He grew up in Pecan Gap and graduated from Fannindel High School. Mike then began his career with Campbell Soup Company. It was after beginning work at Campbell Soup Company that Mike entered East Texas State University where he graduated. His career at Campbell Soup Company spanned thirty-three years before failing health forced his retirement. His wife, Annie, is a bilingual teacher at Justiss Elementary, and Mike loved her students dearly and would participate in many school activities. In turn the students loved their “Big Mike”. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Mike was preceded in death by a son, Michael Andrew Robertson on Aug. 3, 2005, a sister, Pamela Ann Mayes on Dec. 15, 1996 and by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Annie, whom he married on May 31, 2002, in Colombia, a sister, Barbara White & husband Sid of Paris, a brother, David Robertson & wife Kay of Klondike, several nieces & nephews including a very special niece, Kristy Crawford & husband Randy of Pattonville, his mother-in-law, “Mama”, whom he loved dearly, along with a host of friends. Casket bearers will be: Damon Morris, Jeff Mayes, Derek Mayes, Dale Hall, David Hall and Jose Peralta. Jackie Stinson will serve as an honorary bearer.
