Mary Edwards Bedell

Mary Edwards Bedell, 91, of Terrell, formerly of Paris, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Fangio officiating. Burial will follow in Detroit Cemetery. Mrs. Bedell, the daughter of Ed & Nancy Davidson Edwards, was born Oct. 12, 1925, in Clarksville. She grew up in Detroit and graduated from Detroit High School in 1943. Mary married M. B. Shipley. His career was with the U. S. Air Force, thus they traveled and lived across the United States and Japan. Following the death of Mr. Shipley, she married Bert B. Bedell. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2011. Mrs. Bedell was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Shipley, and siblings, John, Charles, Bobby, Billy and Jerry. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Roberts & husband C. D. Cantrell of Terrell, two sisters, Betty Beal & husband Johnny and Francis Nero, one brother, Ned Edwards, grandchildren, Jeff Roberts & wife Debby, Greg Roberts and Monica Shipley, great grandchildren, Mackenzie & Cole Roberts along with numerous nieces & nephews. Honorary casket bearers will be: Jeff Roberts, Greg Roberts, Monte Edwards, Tracy Edwards, Richard Edwards, Marty Don Edwards, Bobby Edwards and C.D. Cantrell.
