Leonard R. Rodgers, 87, of Paris, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 13th at the United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Robert Myre officiating. Eulogies will be delivered by Wayne Weatheread & Doris Dollins. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Highland Cemetery at Durant, OK. Mr. Rodgers, the son of Willie Ray & Francis Etta Smith Rodgers, was born December 5, 1929, in Caddo, OK. On Dec. 30, 1946, he married Ambra Marie Sutterfield, in Sherman, building seventy years of family and memories. His career as a machinist with Bell Helicopter spanned 28 years before his retirement. He was also a farmer and rancher. Mr. Rodgers was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Alfred Lee Jacks, a daughter-in-law, Kim Rodgers, a son-in-law, Paul Jackson, siblings; Mattie Mae Frances, Lonnie Ray Rodgers, Walter William Rodgers, Melvin Ambros Rodgers, Richard David Rodgers and Truman Rodgers. Survivors include his wife, Ambra Marie Rodgers, children; Joyce Marie Jackson, Linda Sue Weatheread & husband Gary, Leonard Allen Rodgers & wife Lillian, Calvin Joe Rodgers, and Alvin Ray Rodgers & wife Thresia, grandchildren; Stephanie Sue Barkley & husband Donnie, Wayne Weatheread & wife Kim, Leonard Allen Rodgers, Jr. & wife Shelley, Michelle Rodgers, Jody Mele, Misty Bachia & husband George, Ashley Mikulec & husband Bubba, Calvin Joe Rodgers, Jr., Christina Barker, Tiffany Callaway & husband Steven, Micheal Ray Rodgers & Sarah, Angie Wilson & husband J. P., Amanda Aguilar & husband Carlos, Janette Young & husband Jimmy, and Paul Daniel Jackson, Jr., 24 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, a brother, William Wayne Rodgers along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends. The family would love to give special recognition to the following people; Doris & Harrison Dollins, Sue Smith, Mary Groff, Mays Home Health, and all the doctors from Paris Regional Medical Center and Dubuis Hospital; Dr. Jabbar, Dr. Shafiq, Dr. Matter and Dr. Acherrya.
