Leonard C. Davis, 92, of Paris, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at Centennial Medical Center in Frisco. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2nd at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Dr. David Blase & Rev. Herb Bullock officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Davis, the son of Jim & Birdie Ashford Davis, was born March 21, 1923, in Cunningham. He graduated from Cunningham High School and then entered the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was injured in the war only months after joining and was honorably discharged. His career at Uarco spanned many years before his retirement in 1985. Leonard was a faithful member of Springlake Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Leona Purcella of Paris and a brother, Delbert Davis, who was killed in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Rhodes Davis, whom he married in 1946, building 68 years of family and memories, two daughters, Debra Perkins and Teri Raybon & husband Jeffrey all of Dallas, three grandchildren, Meredith Perkins, Aric Raybon and Taylor Raybon, a brother, Gavin Davis & wife Doris, three sisters, Ruby Cook, Margaret Holbert and Diana Rogers along with several nieces & nephews and a plethora of friends including a special friend and neighbor, Elmerene Taylor. Casket bearers will be: Brian Wintermute, Daniel Winter, Mark Boots, Clint Hildreth, Michael McHam and Weldon Smith. Leonard Johnson will serve as an honorary bearer.
