Leona Marie Henderson, 88, of Paris, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Susan Leddy officiating. Mrs. Henderson, the daughter of Homer Henry Halley and Helen Mae Thompson Halley, was born Sept. 1, 1928, in Union, MO. She was blessed with three marriages, and all her spouses preceded her in death. Clifford Dale Martin, Ralph Harvey Ross and Ivan Burrell Henderson. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Britney Lipsey, and five siblings; Nadine Thompson, Helen May Henderson, Dale Henderson, Frank Holley and Paul Henderson. Mrs. Henderson was a bookkeeper for Hager Slacks in Greenville, worked for the Hunt County Farm Bureau and was secretary for the Lakeway Harbor Water Office. She was a Methodist and of the Christian Faith. Leona enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society and was proud to be a charter member of The American Legion. She was an expert gardener, a sculpture, and an artist who enjoyed painting wildflowers, people and places. Leona enjoyed playing the violin and was an avid photographer taking pictures of what was real and not so real. A published author on herbs. A computer whiz, but most importantly a good mother to her children. Survivors include her children; Larry Martin & wife Barbara of Palestine, Linda Crittenden & husband Randy of Paris, Phillip A. Martin & wife Jean of Greenville, Carol Lipsey & husband Mike of Celeste and Sandra Reynolds & husband Roger of Bells, three brothers, Don Henderson, Darrell Henderson and David Henderson, twelve grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren along with numerous nieces & nephews.
