John Richard Collier, 74, of Forney, formerly of Paris passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Medical City Hospital in Dallas. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Marks officiating. Burial, with Masonic Rites, will follow in Meadowbrook Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Richard, the son of John Harvey Collier & Evelyn Chlorene Doolin Collier, was born Dec. 16, 1944, in Paris.
He graduated from Paris High School and served a tour in the United States Air Force.
He retired from Frozen Food Express (FFE) in the Road Breakdown Department following many years of service to the company.
He was a member of the Estelle Masonic Lodge #582 in Euless, TX, and was a Shriner.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gerald Scott Collier and Jimmy Lloyd Collier.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Parker Collier, three sisters, Janice Joyce Olson & husband Dean of Georgetown, Martha Ferebee & husband Robert of Jourdanton, and Betsy Haynes & husband Dale of Greenville, two step-daughters, Becky Chambers & husband Jerry and Shana Colcleasure, two step-grandchildren, Jory Chambers and Darien Chambers along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Mark Huey, Darien Chambers, Robert Ferebee, Scott Moore, Brad Moore and Jerry Chambers.
