Jimmy Clay Black, age 73, passed away on November 18, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born on September 28, 1951, at Old Lamar Hospital in Paris, Texas, he was the beloved son of William (Bud) Clay Black and Betty Mae Donaldson-Black of Paris, Texas. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, William (Bud) Clay Black, his brother-in-law, Masood Haidarsl, and a nephew, Brenton Black. He is survived by his devoted mother, Betty, as well as his siblings: Sharon Black Haidarsl, Brenda Daniel and husband Ronald, Roy Wayne Black and wife Cindy, Jerry Lee Black, Stanley Black, Larry Black as well as his dear companion Dorothy Adams.

Growing up in Cunningham, Texas, Jimmy developed a lifelong love for sports, especially basketball and football. After high school, he spent several years in Houston before returning home to Paris, where he dedicated himself to caring for his mother, Betty, and brother, Jerry Lee. Though he never had children of his own, he deeply cherished his many nieces and nephews, treating them as his own.

Jimmy was known for his kind heart, simple nature, and love of gardening. With a green thumb, he tended to his flowers and plants with great pride. His ideal evening was a quiet one, spent with a bowl of beans and cornbread, sitting on the porch, watching his cats at play.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Pastor Bryce Jester officiating. Jimmy will be laid to rest at McCurry Cemetery in Cunningham, Texas, following the service."

Casket bearers will be: Rodney Black, Sammy Brumley, Kristopher Brumley, Austin Sims, Jay Dykes, and Mitchell Black.
