Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22nd at the United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Robert Myre officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Bolton, the daughter of Jesse P. Melton & Mamie Spencer Melton, was born Aug. 12, 1936, in Hopkins County.
Her career with the State of Texas spanned many years before her retirement. Jessie was an excellent seamstress and loved sewing. She crafted potholders, place mats, and many other items for the home. She and her husband, Bob, were known for their peanut brittle, which they made every year for many years.
Her parents and two siblings, Jimmy Melton and Sue Fuller, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Bolton, whom she married on Nov. 6, 1953, building 68 years of family and memories, two children, Phillip Bolton & wife Cindy and Priscilla Clark & husband Stephen, two grandchildren, Sara Wilson & husband Justin and Emilee Legg & husband Kevin, six great grandchildren, Laila, Jaxson, Parker, Charlee, Teddy, and Georgia, and one sister, Joyce Buckholt along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
