Jesse Earl Greer, 71, of Brookston, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21st, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Carlton Mitchell officiating. Cremation will follow. Jesse, the son of Jesse Greer, Sr. & Bertha Hemingway Greer, was born Dec. 18, 1944, in Silver City, TX. His career as a truck driver spanned 35 years before his retirement. He drove 18 years for Merico/Earthgrains, 15 years for Phillips out of Clarksville and 2 years for Winburn Milk out of Sulphur Springs. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Greer, Sr., his mother, Bertha Peek, and several siblings including Sarah Raulston. Survivors include his wife, Sue Springs Greer, whom he married on March 5, 1982, building thirty-three years of memories, five children, Richard Greer & wife Shelly of Texarkana, Cathy Peek & husband Barry of Paris, Kenny Greer & wife Shelli of Detroit, Matthew Greer & wife Morgan of Paris and Skylar Greer & fiancé Colton Wise of the home, six grandchildren, James Greer, Blake McKeller, Omar Ziyadeh & wife Jandery, Nadia Hammad & husband Zaid, Bailee Greer and Brayden Greer, great grandchildren, Jailyn Dodge, Zoe Ziyadeh and Kendrick Ziyadeh, a special brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Richard & Vickie Finley, several nieces & nephews including Krystala & Paul Stringfellow, Shana & Jesse Newberry, Shanon Finley, and a nephew who held a special place in Jesse’s heart, David Wooten & wife Julie, a special friend, Anthony Zeide along with a host of friends.
