Janie Graham Russell

Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Bro. Patrick Cannon & Dr. John Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Russell, the daughter of George Andrew & Bessie Beatrice Wood Graham, was born May 10, 1932, in Morton, Texas.

She was a faithful member of Lamar Avenue Church of Christ where she was nursery attendant for many years. Janie loved being a baby sitter and did that for a number of years before beginning her career with Belk Department Store which spanned more than fifteen years before her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Frank Russell, on December 21, 1971, her parents, three sisters, Beatrice, Marguerite and Leola and by two brothers, George and Bob.

Survivors include seven children, Gary Russell & wife Charlotte of Grand Prairie, Robert Russell & wife Diana of The Woodlands, CA, James Russell & wife Kelly of Longview, Tim Russell & wife Erin of Lexington, KY, Marvin Russell & wife Lindy of Sherman, Melanie Ertle & husband Ken of Grand Prairie and Kevin Russell & wife Benette of Reno, twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a brother, Dr. Charles Graham & wife Johnnie of Sherman, two sisters, Mary Graham and Katie Vanlandingham both of Lubbock, many nieces & nephews along with a plethora of friends.

Casket bearers will be her sons; Gary, Robert, James, Tim, Marvin & Kevin.
